Most dog schools teach you dog training in a kennel or auditorium setting with only
your own dog or only one breed from their breeding stock.  And many expect you to
clean their kennels for them for free as part of your "kennel management"
experience!
We teach you in the most practical situations: in the clients' homes and in group
settings-- since the dogs will ultimately have to listen to their owners in their homes
and around other dogs and people.  And how else can you really evaluate a dog
behavior problem unless you see the dog in these settings?  You will accompany
Anthony Jerone to clients' homes and train dogs (all kinds of dog breeds, ages and
temperaments) and their family members.  For example, instead of teaching dogs
to sit and stay and heel in an auditorium with minimal distractions, you will be
teaching them at the dinner table, around the crawling baby, while visitors are
coming in the door, etc.  You will be teaching the heel command outside with all the
distractions of cars, buses, other dogs and neighbors.  We also provide you with
amazing group training experience.

2. Who teaches the classes?
Anthony Jerone has the most unique credentials in the country and teaches all the
classes and hands-on training.  While most instructors went to a few seminars and
read a few books before training dogs, Anthony Jerone has been dog training and
solving all kinds of canine behavior problems full-time for 40 years.  He received the
most intense dog training in the U.S. Army and started the Canine Patrol program
for NYC.  And, in his spare time, he has been providing community services and
successfully lobbying community boards to open dog parks in Queens county, New
York.  He is continulally sought after as a dog expert around the world by
newspapers, TV stations, Radio stations and attorneys.  You won't find a more
dedicated, successful or knowledgeable instructor anywhere.

3. Can I earn a living as a professional dog trainer?
Absolutely!  If you receive the proper education and training experience, a dog
training career is very exciting and rewarding both personally and financially.  Most
schools just teach you dog training commands.  We teach you how to solve
behavior problems and get the dog to listen to their owners in their own home so
that you will have satisfied customers.  We also teach you how to set up a
successful dog training and canine behaviorist business.  And we offer free career
counseling and post-graduation support to all of our graduates.  We have graduates
from all over the world staying in contact with us for years with their questions and
their success stories.  Please feel free to call our graduates to see for yourself how
successful our graduates really are.  The pet care business is a multi-billion dollar
industry.  There is plenty of room for GOOD dog trainers out there.  After going
through our program, your options are endless.  You can work full-time, part-time or
on the side.  You can start your own business or work for animal shelters,
veterinarians or other training facilities; you can get involved with AKC shows, open
a pet store, or enhance your ability to get on the police canine force.  Our graduates
have done all of these things and more
.

4. Should I bring my own dog while I attend the professional dog
trainer course?
It is not recommended that you bring your own dog if you are coming to our
Academy as a full-time live-in student from out of town. The main reason is that it is
important that you learn how to train all different breeds, ages and temperaments;
not just your own dog. It is also very difficult to get temporary housing in NY that will
accept dogs. You also will have very little time to spend with your dog while
attending our Academy, since you will be training with us full-time, 6-7 days/week.
The only other option would be to find a kennel for your dog, which can be expensive
in NY.

5. How do I know if this is the right school for me?
How many dog training schools tell you who your instructor is and put their names
on the web site?  Your instructor and Grand Master Dog Trainer is Anthony Jerone.
Find out who owns the school and who the instructors are.
Research your instructors credentials and find out where they received their
education.  Is it possible that they just read a book?
Visit the school while in session.  Make sure the owner or the head instructor
teaches the class.  Remember, you researched the instructors credentials so make
sure he or she is doing the instructing and that you are not being passed off to a
novice for your education.  After all your research, is not the instructors credentials
the main reason that you are choosing the school?
Call the Better Business Bureau or the Department of Consumer Affairs to see what
kind of a track record they have.
Correspondence courses are just an easy way to take your money.  You do not
learn the practicality of HANDS-ON training.  Every dog is different and different
methods of training are required.
